In Florida, there is a rise in scams regarding the appointment scheduling at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Individuals in need of obtaining or renewing driver’s licenses and other services are facing a shortage of available time slots. Some unscrupulous intermediaries are taking advantage of this situation by creating a market for what is known as "appointment scalping," where they sell appointments for significant amounts of money.
