China Changes Terms of Belt and Road Initiative at Africa Summit

At the recent summit between China and African nations held in early September 2024, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced significant changes to the Belt and Road Initiative. This program, launched in 2013, originally aimed to strengthen infrastructure and economic cooperation between China and several countries worldwide, including many in Africa.
