India Plans to Equip Trucks with LNG to Cut Emissions

The Government of India has announced plans to implement liquefied natural gas (LNG) in freight transport as part of its strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other harmful gases. This decision is in response to India's status as one of the largest carbon emitters in the world, seeking to lessen its environmental footprint and ensure a more sustainable future for transportation.

As part of this initiative, authorities plan to lay down special pipelines for fueling trucks and subsidize the adoption of LNG. This measure is expected not only to reduce air pollution levels but also to cut dependence on more polluting fuels like diesel.

Additionally, officials emphasize that the shift to LNG could foster the development of the domestic engineering and manufacturing base, creating new jobs and stimulating local economies.
